Phil's BBQ

OMG!!! This is the BEST place for "fall off the bone" ribs! Their onion rings are crispy & fantastic! Their pulled pork sandwiches are GREAT! Love this place, go there as often as possible.

The order was not the way my girlfriend wanted. I asked the person on phone 4 times to put Cajun spice on fries but they did not. The manager was nice enough to remake it the way she wanted. The Cajun spice on the side was nice addition. Thanks!

I was craving beef ribs and heard Phil's was the place to come. I ordered the 5 rib dinner without sides. The ribs were so good. They don't drown them with to much sauce. These will be my go to item on future visits. Now you know a place is good when people line up outside waiting for the doors to open. Lucky for me I was at the front of the line lol.

Finally got to try this place after hearing about it for years. I had the half rib dinner with fries and a generous bowl of baked beans. The pork ribs were just the right sort of tender, the baked beans were pretty sweet, and the fries were nothing to dismiss. I found the portion pretty satisfying. Since I went with a good sized group, the seat yourself type of service worked out well.The prices are reasonable but not exactly budget minded. My meal was about 16 dollars and a drink would have been a bit more. If you are in the mood for dessert after, Hammonds ice cream right beside Phil's is a good followup.

The service was good. The bbq sauce served with or on-top of everything just overpowers the meat because there is so much of it. The beef rib is under seasoned and the pork ribs were dry, but they did have good smoke flavor. The sausage was better after removing the BBQ sauce from the top of it. Best part of the meal were the onion rings.

Food always on point. Sometimes there’s a wait but it’s well worth it. Shout out to Tyler who helped our table through out the night. He went above beyond for us. Super attentive and on the ball. Knew what we needed before we did. Awesome job!! 👏🏼 Get this man a raise!

Was recommended to check this place out and was glad I did.I didn't expect much of a Californian BBQ joint as I have traveled quite extensively in Texas and know good barbecue when I see it.This place absolutely lived up to the hype. Very pleasantly surprised, the food is as close as Texan BBQ as you're gonna get outside of the South.The BBQ sauce was good, the ribs were very tender and not overcooked at all. Fall off the bone style. The sides were also quite good. Overall I was very pleased and would definitely recommend it as a must try in San Diego.The service was excellent, very friendly and courteous.Lots of TVs around the joint too so it'd be a good place to catch a game as well.

Awesome BBQ experience. While there was a short wait, it was worth it. Sauce is a delicious mix of sweet and tangy. We shared a huge plate of loaded fries (pulled pork, cheese, and sauce) added a link & drink and also the boneless chicken and rib combo. Everything was tasty.

THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING! my family and I were in love with their food. The moment we walked into the restaurant we knew the food was going to blow our minds but little did we know that they were so GREAT we'd end up buying their special BBQ sauce. We will never forget this experience. Thank you!

This place is incredible. I mean the food is just like what many TV food critics describe when they rate restaurants, except in this place you get to eat the delicious dishes.I believe that the staff is also overly accommodating to say the least. No other place like Phil's BBQ in all Southern California. The sides are very delicious as well, so feel free to order any; you won't regret eating any the sides!

King of ribs!! I’ve been to a couple of Phil’s other locations but this one is the original and THE BEST!! Can’t put my finger on what the difference is. The service is excellent everywhere. The ribs are definitely better. They get my vote for my top 3 rib places in the US. Sat at the bar for lunch and all the bar staff are very attentive and thorough. Great service 👍👍Now, how exactly do I hide these leftovers in my fridge from anyone else? 😉

Wow! Amazing taste. You can smell the goodness as you walk through the door. Easy to find, good sized parking lot- well lit. For a Friday night!? Great service, beginning to end. Ordering was easy, options are endless to mix and match flavors. Great dining for two on a budget too! The plates are are great portions of meat and the sides are just perfect. The barbecue flavor is delicious, and savory. We ordered the pulled pork loaded fries and drenched them in the barbecue sauce. The table service was super attentive, made sure we had all our sauces and cleaned up the table as we dined. Drinks are self served/refills. Don’t forget a whoopie pie! What a bite of sweetness! Truly enjoyed my food and experience. The area was a clean, and the restrooms were well kept. Deft coming back to this location.

The food was delicious, we had Baby Back Ribs. But the most exceptional was the manager, Emily! She was able to accommodate our group of 13 in the middle of dinner rush! And the service while we dined was exceptional. Everyone was happy, even my picky-former-cook dad. We cannot thank this team enough! Our server (which I forgot his name) was also very courteous when we asked to re do a burger that was under cooked. All the food came out fast and delicious. Thank you again for the great service.
